GUIDELINES FOR COMMUNION LEADERS

Remember that this is a serious and sacred time in the service. Following is a general reminder of what the communion service should look like:

Come up to the podium when we ask everyone to be seated after praise and worship.
Please use a microphone, hold it close, and speak up so everyone can hear you.

A very brief meditation/reminder of what communion is about, possibly reading a related passage of scripture (optional, as you feel led).

A prayer of blessing over the bread and cup.

Should you notice any visitors, you might want to just remind everybody to take communion as it comes to them no waiting.

Invite the ushers to come and serve communion.

After communion close with a prayer of thanksgiving.
