Bonnie Whitaker is the director of our Children's ministries, and any questions you might have about the program should be directed to her. Thank you for your willingness to assist her in working with our young people to help them grow in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ!

How Children’s Church workers can be the most helpful and effective:

Keep order! Do not hesitate to stop kids from picking on each other, needlessly touching each other, talking out of turn, kicking chairs, etc. Feel free to separate any if they are disrupting the group.
Assist with experiments, demonstrations, games and crafts. Instruction will be provided ahead of time if needed.
Join in discussions with personal examples, especially when showing how God has moved in your own life.
Encourage children and remind them God loves them and has a plan for their lives.
Be ready to ad lib and/or fill in times when adult worship is longer than expected.

Besides a Bible lesson each week, we recite a pledge to the American flag, the Christian flag and the Bible.
We put our offering in a jar and anxiously wait to see how long it takes to fill the jar. When the jar is filled (usually about 8 weeks) we vote as a class where we want the money to go. It always goes to help children somewhere in the world with food, water, school supplies, sports equipment, Bibles, mosquito nets, medicine, etc. And we send it through VCF to a ministry we know and trust, such as Samaritan’s Purse, Feed the Children, Compassion International.
Sometimes we have upbeat music, crafts, or games
We can be involved with many other activities such as:
Learning a song on handbells
Practicing for a Christmas skit
Planning for Hallelujah Night (Alternative to Halloween)
Collecting items and later filling shoeboxes for Samaritan’s Purse
Praying for each other and needs of the world as appropriate

In the Fall we will resume our What’s in the Bible series with lessons and video from the New Testament
During the month of December we will have lessons each week from the Christmas story and learn that Jesus is more than just a Baby in the manger
In January we will begin a new series of lessons that are video based with coordinating activities to reinforce the main theme.

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR WILLINGNESS TO HELP KIDS KNOW THAT JESUS LOVES THEM VERY MUCH!
